Based in Marseille, France, TELESCOPE ROAD is a meeting of three musicians from three different countries who together create strikingly original progressive music.

On guitars we find Alain Chiarazzo, virtuoso French guitarist and founding member of the legendary Eclat. One-of-a-kind fretless bassist William Kopecky (Kopecky, Michael Angelo Batio, Par Lindh Project) hails from the USA. They are joined by innovative Finnish drummer David Lillkvist (Par Lindh Project, Gjallarhorn), who has earned a well-deserved international reputation.

2015 was a big year for the group starting with their performance at the ProgSud festival, France. They then had their first experience playing together internationally when they toured Japan. Also noteworthy was their appearance at the Rock ad Ovest festival in Italy as well as numerous concerts in Marseille in the south of France.

In 2016 the group released their debut self-titled 6 track CD, three of which are instrumental and three which include vocals. One track features the Finnish vocalist Cleo and another with South African singer Sbongile Mbambo. Also guesting on two tracks on the album is Nabankur “Pinku” Bhattacharya on tabla and voice.

In the summer of 2016 the group did a French tour that culminated with their performance at the Crescendo Festival, France´s largest progressive rock festival. The group also performed a “cine-concert” playing live to the beautiful images of Jacques Perrin’s Océans.

In 2017 the band played in France, England, Finland, and Japan, where they played a series of very succesful return concerts. The year also included another “cine-concert” as the band played to the images of film maker Jacques Trevisan.

2018 will find the band playing numerous dates in France and elsewhere as well as composing and recording music for their forthcoming album.

TELESCOPE ROAD offers a musical world full of nuances. Their acoustic side allows them to express themselves with finesse, but they can also build up the intensity to deliver powerful and technically-challenging music.

TELESCOPE ROAD takes the listener on a visionary musical journey from rock via jazz to world music (especially Middle-Eastern, Mediterranean, and Indian music) while utilizing their instruments to their full potential.
